Development
The Environmental Ethics written curriculum was developed by the Goldman Environmental Prize and the Yale University Department of Forestry and Environmental Studies. The video profiles featuring Goldman Prize winners from around the world are developed annually by the Goldman Prize and serve as a centerpiece of each prize ceremony. The curriculum uses these grassroots environmental heroes to illustrate why and how individuals decide to act in their communities.
Testing
In Spring 2005, over 50 educators tested the curriclum with their students in high schools, middle schools, universities, nature centers,
and zoos around the United States. They provided feedback that was used in the final development stages of the curriculum.
Feedback
Overall, testers were thrilled with Environmental Ethics. They found that their students were able to understand how individual choices impact complex environmental issues and were energized to start their own community projects in response to the curriculum.
